Yet another reason to cut taxes now: Feds Spend $199,665 Analyzing Tweets About E-Cigarettes

Feds Spend Nearly $200,000 Analyzing Tweets About E-Cigarettes

The University of Kentucky received $199,665 for the project, which began on August 10th. Still, corrupt lifetime politicians like Mitch McConnell keep getting reelected. It’s very true that, “Voters like their own Senators, even though they hate Congress.”

Is it any wonder that Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell was once named to a watchdog organization’s list of the most corrupt members of Congress?

Drain the Swamp!

From The Washington Free Beacon:

The National Institutes of Health is spending roughly $200,000 on a study of tweets about electronic cigarettes.

The project, “Toward Fine-Grained E-Cigarette Surveillance on Social Media,” will analyze hashtags and “follower-friend connections” of people talking about e-cigarettes online.

Operating on the premise that the popular smoking cessation products are harmful, researchers say it is necessary to document what is being said on Twitter and Reddit for one year.

“Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) have emerged as the main smoke-free alternative to regular cigarettes over the past few years,” according to the grant for the project. “While the ongoing healthy scientific debate about their long term health effects and their suitability for smoking cessation are important, in this project, we propose computational approaches toward fine-grained surveillance of specific themes, factors influencing message popularity, and demographic variations.”

“The overarching goal is to create new affordances for researchers and health agencies to leverage online social media platforms for knowing and reaching their audience in effective ways,” the grant states.

Feds Spend Nearly $200,000 Analyzing Tweets About E-Cigarettes
Researchers say they will study “#retweets” and “#replies” of tweets about e-cigarettes. They will analyze all tweets sent about e-cigarettes between July 2016 and June 2017.

“Twitter has become the favorite network for teenagers and young adults owing to the short message size and associated ease of use on smart phones,” according to the grant. “For an emerging product like e-cigarettes, the asymmetric follower-friend connections and hashtag functionality in Twitter offer a convenient way to propagate information and facilitate discussion.”

Researchers hope the Food and Drug Administration can use their findings to make the government’s anti-electronic cigarette messages go viral.

“We expect these results will help Health agencies, the FDA, and Researchers gain insights into observed viral nature of certain messages and designing effective strategies to maximize diffusion of their messages,” the grant states.

George Washington Wearing A Make America Great Cap

Last Friday night at Mar-a-Lago the Republican Party of South Florida had its annual Lincoln Day Dinner. They created a program that you get if you go in, like you get a program at a ballgame. They had a little program with the agenda in it — who’s speaking, who’s saying what, how much to send to this person. It’s a fundraising thing.

Chelsea Clinton Hopes MAGA Hat on Pic of Lincoln Is Photoshopped

So on the front of the program is an artist’s drawing of Abe Lincoln wearing a red Make America Great cap It is a drawing. Chelsea Clinton saw it; she sent out a tweet: “Please tell me this is photoshopped. Please?” Meaning, it’s likely that Chelsea Clinton literally actually believed that Abraham Lincoln had worn a Make America Great cap and had been photographed wearing it back in 1863! She was serious. She was scared to death that Lincoln actually wore the hat.

President Trump said his swearing-in was “such a success and such a safety success and we want to thank you all.” What a refreshing change from the previous administration who accused Law Enforcement of widespread racism!  I can’t recall any previous President honoring Law Enforcement in such a fashion.

Andrew Breitbart Tweet Before His Death

There’s more to this.

Less than a month before his 2011 “heart failure”, Andrew tweeted about Hillary Clinton’s long-time friend and campaign manager John Podesta:

From The Washington Times:

Andrew Breitbart is making news even in death.

Social media speculation of a sex-trafficking ring in the nation’s capital has burned up social media sites for weeks. Complicating matters is Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s decision not to comment on anything WikiLeaks-related for months.

Explosive claims by Internet sleuths, which were prompted after reading stolen documents belonging to Mr. Podesta, have been derided as “viciously phony” by Fox News’ Howard Kurtz. A tweet by Mr. Breitbart shortly before his March 1, 2012, death is now being cited by online researchers as proof that they are onto something big.

“How prog-guru John Podesta isn’t household name as world class underage sex slave op cover-upperer defending unspeakable dregs escapes me,” Mr. Breitbart wrote Feb. 4, 2011.

The conservative icon’s death at age 43 was attributed to “heart failure.”

Knowledge of the late conservative’s tweet sent Google searches for “Andrew Breitbart” skyrocketing Sunday night as news spread to members of Twitter, Reddit, GAB, Voat and other social media platforms.

“One of America’s best an most respected independent journalists at the time; he is making a very bold claim about John Podesta — back then — based on his own research,” former Huffington Post contributor David Seaman wrote on GAB Sunday night. “This is years before WikiLeaks came out.”

Mr. Seaman and others claim Mr. Podesta and his associates spoke in code in numerous documents released by WikiLeaks. One example includes a Feb. 9, 2014, email with the subject line “Did you leave a handkerchief.”

“Hi John, The realtor found a handkerchief (I think it has a map that seems pizza-related. Is it yorus [sic]?” a woman identified as Susaner asked. “They can send it if you want.”

Such wording led online sleuths to investigate Mr. Podesta’s connections with D.C. power-player James Alefantis, owner of Comet Ping Pong. The Democrat fundraiser and pizza place owner, who is mentioned in 16 different WikiLeaks documents, had a public Instagram account that featured sexual innuendo and bizarre images of children.

Accounts for Comet Ping Pong employees, which are now set to private, featured nudity involving men with slices of pizza strategically placed over their genitals.

“From this insane, fabricated conspiracy theory, we’ve come under constant assault,” Mr. Alefantis, 42, told The New York Times on Nov. 21. “I’ve done nothing for days but try to clean this up and protect my staff and friends from being terrorized. […] It’s endless.”

The editorial board of The Washington Post also lambasted social media sleuths on Nov. 25 in an op-ed titled “‘Pizzagate’ shows how fake news hurts real people.”

“The allegations against Comet Ping Pong, reported by the New York Times, are absurd on their face and detached from any gossamer thread of fact,” the newspaper wrote. “They took root in the dark crevices of the Web and took flight thanks to social media platforms, whose witless ‘who, us?’ posture in the face of misinformation and outright lunacy is a civic embarrassment. …”

“Like 93 percent of Washingtonians, the restaurateur happened to support Ms. Clinton for president; he has some prominent Democratic friends, past and present,” the Post continued. “Mr. Alefantis’s name surfaced in leaked email from Mr. Podesta’s account, published by WikiLeaks, in which the two men discussed holding a Clinton fundraiser. As far as anyone knows, there is no more logic than that as to why Mr. Alefantis and his restaurant became targets. The First Amendment is a bulwark of democracy but provides no protection for defamatory allegations published in knowing disregard for the truth. Mr. Alefantis is more than entitled to sue for defamation and libel, if he can find the purveyors of the garbage heaved his way.”

Fill In The Blanks

Breitbart was onto something HUGE and Wikileaks has made the info available to fill in the blanks. Now we just have to pressure our new FBI director and our new Attorney General to go after the whole mess of them. The list is very very long.

As a side note:

Remember when Breitbart’s coroner, Michael Cormier died of arsenic poisoning a few months after Breitbart died?

Corrupt to the core!

The US is governed by outright criminals in open collusion with each other against the will of the people. Civil disobedience may be the only answer.

FBI Director Comey: We Found Hillary “Work Related” Emails That Were Not Turned Over to FBI – But Recommend NO CHARGES FIled

FBI Director held a press conference Tuesday morning on the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s home server.

Comey will turn over his investigation to the Department of Justice.

FBI Director James Comey:
** The FBI found several “work related” emails on her server that were not turned over to the FBI.

** Evidence they were extremely careless with classified email.

** Findings “especially concerning” regarding classified information

** Even if info is not marked “classified” it is responsibility of officials to understand what information is classified

** She also used her server outside the US

** It is possible outside actors penetrated her servers

** FBI says No reasonable prosecutor would move forward with the case

** We cannot find a case that would cause us to file charges on our findings

** We are expressing to Justice our view that no charges should be filed in this case

THIS should be a clarion call to the #NeverTrump crowd. THIS corruption will only expand and continue under Crooked Hillary!

Crooked Hillary Skates 2

Hillary Clinton clearly violated Section 793(f) of the Espionage Act:
(f) Whoever, being entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, note, or information, relating to the national defense, (1) through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of his trust, or to be lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, or (2) having knowledge that the same has been illegally removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of its trust, or lost, or stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, and fails to make prompt report of such loss, theft, abstraction, or destruction to his superior officer— Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

FLASHBACK: Crooked Hillary caught on tape!
Footage from a 2001 report by ABC News’ Brian Ross about a disgruntled donor shows then Senator Crooked Hillary Clinton talking about how she had chosen to avoid email for fear of a paper trail.

“As much as I’ve been investigated and all of that, you know, why would I —- I don’t even want -— why would I ever want to do e-mail? Can you imagine?” ~ Crooked Hillary 2001

I wonder if her nervous coughing fits will stop now!

Beer And Church Tweets

A study analyzing Twitter data paints the country by preference for two of its favorite pastimes: beer or church. The study, which was done by geography nerds at Floating Sheep, looks at all geo-tagged tweets from a one week period and extracts tweets containing the words “church” and/or “beer”.

At first glance the map looks as one might expect. The southeast United States glows red with the wholesome, while everyone living in New England, the Rust Belt and just about everyone west of Saint Louis chooses to attend to the the Church of the Almighty Brew. San Franciscans are most verbose in their beery prayers, followed closely by Boston. Which makes sense, because you’d have to be drunk to make it through a Boston winter or listen to a San Franciscan drone endlessly on about how progressive they are.

Upon closer inspection, however, there are a few anomalies. The entirety of the Washington Metro Area tweets piously, with the tiny exception of the District itself— which is populated by a hoard of drunken louts. Which is weird, because I always thought of the D.C. suburbs as soulless places filled with the legions of the damned. Speaking of which, almost all of Maryland goes in the church column, again with the exception of Baltimore.

Still, the whole D.C. area can take solace in not being Dallas, which won the dubious distinction as the “my tweets are holier than thous” twitter hub of the country with a whopping 178 church related tweets. One more reason to never move to Dallas.
