The FBI is searching for (MUSLIM) Ahmad Khan Rahami in connection with the bombing that took place in Chelsea district in New York City.
The NYPD released the name and picture Monday morning of a man being sought in connection for the New York City bombing over the weekend.
Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, is the first person identified in connection with the incident.
Rahami is a naturalized United States citizen who was born in Afghanistan, according to the FBI. His last known address was in Elizabeth, N.J., where authorities found pipe bombs in a garbage can Monday morning.
The FBI raided the Elizabeth address in the morning.
New York City Mayor de Blasio said Rahami is believed to be armed and dangerous.
It is “too early to say” if Rahami has ties to a terror network, de Blasio said.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday there might be a “foreign connection” behind the bombing.
Law enforcement sources told CBS This Morning Rahami may also be connected to bombings in Seaside Park and Elizabeth, N.J.

Ismaaiyl Brinsley murdered two policemen in Brooklyn today, as they were having lunch. The murders are being reported as revenge for the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown. However, there appears to be more to the story. His Facebook page contains a photo of Qur’an 8:60, which includes the phrase, “Strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah.”
He also identifies himself as an Arabic speaker, which is not common among gangbangers.
A Muslim man who has been radicalized by ISIS propaganda assaulted a group of police officers with a hatchet in New York City yesterday.
Was it an act of terror or just “Walk Place Violence”?
A hatchet-wielding man attacked a group of patrol officers in a busy commercial district in Queens on Thursday, injuring two before the other officers shot and killed him, New York City police said. A bystander was wounded in the gunfire.
The deceased suspect has been identified in multiple reports as 32-year-old Zale Thompson, an apparent Muslim who lived in Queens.
At a news conference at a hospital where one officer was being treated for a serious head wound, Police Commissioner William Bratton said that investigators were still trying to determine a motive.
