|A very famous chemist was found murdered in his kitchen today. The police have narrowed it down to six suspects. They know it was a two man job. Their names: Felice, Maxwell, Archibald, Nicolas, Jordan, and Xavier.
A note was also found with the body: ’26-3-58/28-27-57-16′.
Who are the killers?
Felice and Nicholas are the murderers. The numbers correspond to atomic numbers on the periodic table of elements: ‘Fe-Li-Ce/Ni-Co-La-S’.
|Armed robbers invaded a bank. They were busy looting when suddenly a phone rang. The phone happened to be at the reception. One of the robber asked the receptionist to attend the call and talk without giving away the situation. The call happen to be from her mother. She spoke, ‘Do you have any emergency mom? Can you give me a call when I get home, I could really use your help in buying new curtains?’ Then she hangs up.
The robbers are busy when the police suddenly arrive, along with the mother of the receptionist.
How did she know about the robbery?
The receptionist was pretty clever. She had her finger on the mute button of the phone while talking with her mother, and muted everything except the words, “emergency,” “call,” and “help.” So while talking, she sounded like she was saying, “Emergency… Call… Help” to her mother, who then called the police.

To “burn the midnight oil” means to stay up working, and especially studying, late at night. This harkens back to the days when people used oil lamps at night.
